🎵 Gamera is really neat. He is filled with turtle meat. We all love you Gamera! 🎵
The kaiju series continues! I prevailed in persuading Buffalo to make a Gamera hat companion for Godzilla, Ghidorah, Mothra, and King Kong. It was hard to photograph. You need to see it in person to fully appreciate its charm. All of the kaiju hats are in the Etsy store (links above). Gamera here. 🎵 Gamera is really neat. He is filled with turtle meat. We all love you Gamera! 🎵

We are less than two weeks away from Halloween but I'm struggling to feel it this year. I don't know if there will be trick-or-treaters. It seems like a bad idea to send your kids out begging candy from strangers during a pandemic. But if you want to celebrate at home with your quarantine mates, we have the masks. Not medical grade m95s (Buffalo does make non-medical grade cloth masks in colorful fabrics for those trips to the grocery store. Email her for details). No, I'm talking about utterly porous crocheted raffia masks. Or needlelace masks, take your pick. Also monster hats and other silly costume hats. Buffalo says this is the last in the kaiju series, but I'm campaigning for a Gamera hat. She doesn't want to do it because she's never seen a Gamera movie. Time to crack open that sweet MST3K Gamera deluxe tin. Anyhoo, behold the majesty that is Mothra (singing tiny twins not included). Remember the kaiju hat Buffalo finished a couple of months ago, Godzilla and King Ghidorah fighting on Mount Fuji? If not, scroll down to the previous blog post. Godzilla and Ghidorah account for one part of the MonsterVerse but we cannot forget the King. I am speaking of Kong, of course. Lest you think King Kong and Godzilla belong in different universes, Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. are in the midst of a shared universe franchise that includes both of them [films: Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)]. Buffalo's Kong is old school. Instead of fighting a Japanese kaiju, he takes out his aggression on the Empire State Building. Behold! It has been ages since I blogged, but to be fair it's been a while since Buffalo made anything new. Now that she's been furloughed from her day job she's producing again. She has launched a new kaiju series of hats. It is still very much a work in progress, but I thought I'd share her work so far. First up, the guy we all know and love, Godzilla (or Gojira, if you prefer). After crocheting Godzilla, Buffalo went to work on King Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. I love his wings. But what can these two behemoths fight over? My laptop? Nah. Mount Fuji! Yes, that is a hat. Her original plan was to attach the kaiju securely to the hat, but they are so much fun to play with that now she's thinking of making them removable. What do you think?
Stay tuned for more. Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner. Buffalo still has two of her California Sombreros™ and her limited edition Margarita cocktail hat available for sale. Click on the images below to go to the Etsy listings. Easter is almost upon us. Whether you want a big floppy hat or something small and smart, Buffalo has you covered. I am particularly fond of the shepherdess hat with cheetah ears. So cute! Men's hats too. Time for the annual Halloween sales pitch. Is there anyone who makes more Halloween-worthy goods than Buffalo? She makes masks, pirate coats, silly hats, and themed Aloha shirts, among other things. Here's is a sample of her current stock (more on Etsy). If you want a special order, better contact Buffalo now. She has limited time available to accommodate special orders. Mardi Gras is February 13 - less than a month away. Buffalo has tons of merchandise that would be perfect for Mardi Gras celebrations: silly felt hats, needlelace masks, silly raffia hats, awesome raffia masks. Some favorites are pictured below.
