We finally have some of Buffalo's wonderful themed shirts available for sale on Etsy. Due to copyright issues, not all of the shirts are listed (e.g. the Day of the Dead shirt with R2D2 and C3PO sugar skulls is not listed because Disney has been known to be litigious). I'm not entirely sure what Etsy's policy is on this score but we are erring on the side of caution. The six shirts that are available are:

Buffalo made a bunch of new shirts from various fabrics with hand-sewn buttonholes and charming novelty buttons. Contrasting fabric on the underside of the collars. There are too many photos for a gallery so I put them in a slideshow below. I included some closeups of the buttons, because they are awesome. Love the mermaid shirt (again with the mermaids!) but I think the "Hunks for the Holidays" is my favorite. Love how she managed to find Christmas, Valentine's, Halloween, and 4th of July fabric with hunks on them. My favorite of Buffalo's recent custom shirts: the primary theme is science, the secondary theme is music. I love the fabrics in this and the retro rocketship button. Buffalo filled a couple of shirt orders over the holidays--special orders, of course. Alas, my photos of the Tiki shirt didn't turn out very well. Here it is:
Four days until Christmas. Have you finished your Christmas shopping? Don't panic, Buffalo's got you covered. Introducing...[fanfare]... Buffalo Hats gift certificates! How does it work? First contact Buffalo via email with your phone number and put "gift certificate" in the subject line. The transaction will require a phone conversation to work out the payment method, we are not setup for digital transactions on the website. Once payment is secured, Buffalo will email you a PDF certificate that you can resend to the lucky recipient. I created certificates in the following denominations: $50, $75, $100, $125, $150, $200. If you want some other amount, we can accommodate that. Certificates can be cashed in for existing Buffalo wares or new works, custom made. If the full value of the certificate is not exhausted, the recipient will be issued a new certificate for the balance or store credit. Happy Merry [Christmas|Kwanzaa|Hanukkah|Festivus|Winter Solstice] everybody! I want to say a few words about Buffalo's shirts. You can't really tell from the gallery how great they are. Not only does Buffalo manage to find the most amazing fabric to satisfy any whim, she uses some of it in places that can't even be seen, except by the wearer - the inside plackets, the underside of the collar, etc. Also, her buttons are the only buttons in my entire wardrobe that don't come undone on their own, or fall off because they are sloppily attached. That in itself is a godsend. So here's a detailed look at my new Adventure Time shirt, which was a Christmas present. That blue lined fabric with Finn and Jake on the inside placket of the shirt is flannel, which feels nice next to the skin. Note: Adventure Time and all related characters and elements are trademarks of and © Cartoon Network. I segregated the felt, raffia and other hats into separate galleries. You'll find the new pages as sub-pages under Hats. I also separated the Wearables by category: Dresses, Shirts, Cowgirl Jackets and Pirate Coats.
Just a quick note: Buffalo will be at the Northern California Renaissance Faire this weekend! Huzzah! She is only attending this one weekend and doesn't know where her booth will be. I took some hurried photos last night at 2:00am of all of her new stock but I haven't uploaded it from the camera yet. Not sure how they turned out. I'll post an update later. New item: tiny little hat boxes with tiny little hats! They are truly adorable. More later.
Hi Folks. Lisa here. Still no store and no blog entry from Buffalo yet either, I'm sorry to say. She's been very busy creating new work for RenFaire. I probably should have led with that: Buffalo is going to RenFaire! The Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, CA. Buffalo has had her nose to the grindstone for weeks making new stock for the faire, which I should have photographed and put on the site. But Tuesday, the one day I got home from work while it was still daylight out, my shower door suddenly decided to explode, raining broken glass down on me. My hand got cut and oozed blood all over the place. My bathroom looked like a crime scene. I'm okay. The cleanup was the worst part. But all thoughts of photographing Buffalo's cute new felt hats went out of my head.
It's been a long hiatus since Buffalo last attended the faire. She will be there one weekend only: April 25-26. This weekend is The Best of the Fest, featuring the Fools Guild Parade and Coronation. WooHoo! (The Fools Guild sprung from the RenFaire back in 1979 and is still going strong.) The crowning of the new King of Fools occurs at noon on Sunday, April 26. If you are in or near the LA area and would like to attend the faire, they are selling tickets at various Southern California Walgreens locations. More information at the link below. |
